Diogenes is a tool for searching and browsing the Latin and ancient Greek texts published on CD-ROM by the Packard Humanities Institute and the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae. It comes as an easy-to-install stand-alone application for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows, based on the Firefox browser (i.e. Xulrunner). Alternatively, it can be installed by a network administrator as a server on a local network, and users then access it via an ordinary Web browser. There is also a command-line tool which can optionally format output as LaTeX instead of HTML.

HTML::Mason is a full-featured web site development and delivery system. Mason allows web pages and sites to be constructed from shared, reusable building blocks called components. Components contain a mix of Perl and HTML, and can call each other and pass values back and forth like subroutines. Components increase modularity and eliminate repetitive work. John the Ripper is a fast password cracker, currently available for many flavors of Unix, Windows, DOS, BeOS, and OpenVMS. Its primary purpose is to detect weak Unix passwords. It supports several crypt(3) password hash types commonly found on Unix systems, as well as Windows LM hashes. On top of this, lots of other hashes and ciphers are added in the community-enhanced version (-jumbo), and some are added in John the Ripper Pro.
