nexB OpenAssets is a tool for inventorying, managing, and monitoring applications, software, hardware, networks, and generally any IT asset. It is designed so that system administrators, IT, and finance can determine what they have, how it is configured, what it is used for, and how much it is being used, so that informed decisions can be made. It complements existing network management software, integrates with a growing number of protocols and tools, and features no-agent discovery and inventory, configuration management including dependencies and correlation, monitoring, and reporting. It makes extensive and innovative use of XML, Xpath, and Xquery.
SportsTracker is an application for recording sporting activities. It is not bound to a specific kind of sport, as categories can be created for all sport types, such as cycling, running, or tennis. The main advantages are the good overview of your exercises and the easy creation of exercise statistics for specific time ranges and sport types. Users of heart rate monitors (Polar and CicloSport) can import, display (including diagrams), and organize the recorded exercise data.
Groovy is an agile, dynamic language for the JVM which combines many features from languages like Python, Ruby, and Smalltalk and makes them available to Java developers using a Java-like syntax. It is designed to help get things done on the Java platform in a quicker, more concise, and fun way. It can be used as an alternative compiler to javac to generate standard Java bytecode to be used by any Java project or it can be used dynamically as an alternative language, such as for scripting Java objects, templating, or writing unit test cases.
GEMS EMF Intelligence is a framework designed to help you reason about your EMF models. The framework provides a knowledge base that you can assert EMF modeling elements into. Once modeling elements are asserted into the knowledge base, you can add constraints to relationships between model elements. Finally, you can use GEMS EMF Intelligence to derive valid endpoints (other objects in the knowledge base) for relationships (such as EReferences) of a modeling element. GEMS EMF Intelligence supports constraints written in OCL, Prolog, Groovy, and BeanShell. Multiple constraint languages can be mixed in a single knowledge base.
Spikeflow is used to develop e-form services. It supports multi-page forms with conditional branching. Choose from a set of interface components or develop custom ones. Complex validations, digital signing, and integration with backend systems with Java or Groovy plugins are included. There are two parts: Spikeflow Creator (used to build the e-forms) and Spikeflow Runtime (to render them on the Web).
GreenMail is a suite of email servers for testing purposes and sandbox development. It supports SMTP, POP3, and IMAP (including SSL) and can be embedded into any Java application or unit test. The GreenMail Service (SAR) extension runs as a JBoss embedded developer mail server sandbox, manageable via JMX.
CTL is a cross-platform control dispatching tool that makes it easy to automate any kind of distributed systems management or application provisioning task. Rather than writing complex and error-prone scripts that over utilize "for loops", CTL handles the network dispatching for you and allows you to focus on the actual management tasks you need to accomplish. In addition to being a dispatching tool, CTL comes with pre-built cross-platform utilities so you don't have to script actions like file distribution or process and port checking. You can also write your own custom utilities and share them with others in your organization. Custom utilities are defined in XML, and your scripting can be done in multiple scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.), *nix shell, Windows batch, and/or Ant.
CodaServer is a database that makes building business applications easy. It uses a SQL-like language that lets you describe your workflow and business processes, and uses this information to enforce your business rules and guarantee data integrity. It also has a rich set of metadata commands so that your applications can get the information they need to build intelligent, process-aware user interfaces. CodaServer's listener is Web service-based, making it truly cross-platform, and it uses standard SQL databases for storing data, protecting your current investment.
