SQL-Ledger is a Web-based, multiuser, double entry accounting system. Data is stored in an SQL database server. It is customizable and country independent, with international language support. It supports inventory with assemblies, BOMs, and more.

Simple to configure, secure and best of all - free.
Great piece of work. Has everything a small business (even larger businesses for that matter) needs.
Are there modules coming for payroll and country specific tax codes?
I am rolling out this software as part of a customer relationship environment so payroll is not totally necessary but it would be an escape from simply and quickbooks.
Good work. Very smooth and easy to use.

Check the mailing list archives. I saw some discussion in there about converting QuickBooks data into SQL.
